Passing Thoughts by George Ryan

Renoir once said that working next to others

over the years had been a great help to him:

It stops you thinking all your paintings are good.

The blue sky is almost clear

beyond the highrise buildings.

Above one a narrow cloud

floats like a negative thought.

Trump if triumphant

in the election

could possibly do

something to annoy

Netanyahu, who

might come after him

When I say please stop

telling me all this

she talks to herself

so that I can hear
